After a group adventure in 2011 I started making pastel interpretations of beach photos found on ebay, , in my family album, and found in thrift stores..
i was inspired by Tyler Warren, a surfer artist, who's work I saw at the Bonzer Gallery on the North shore of Oahu. His work really made me think about typical vacation images and how we act during vacation versus in our daily lives.
There is a freedom from the norm that people project when they are posing that delights me.
I proceeded to add in other imagery that I found intriguing, such as those of people at Coney Island. When I lived in New York City I took every opportunity to visit Coney Island, which has its own magic to share.
My original pastels are for sale, or you can save the image off my web site free here, not the original but...
Pastels are $75.00 each, email if you are interested.
Hope you enjoy!
